The Love Dare

Recently I have taken the challenge to start the Love Dare with Tiffany. At the beginning of the book the author writes how “God designed marriage to be a good thing.”

In fact, Proverbs says “he who finds a wife finds a good thing.” The word good, that is used in this verse, is the same Hebrew word used in Genesis to describe the end of each day of creation as being “good.” The word in this passage has the implication of being complete, whole, and without need of addition too. We see this when we understand that Eve was taken from Adams side and without Eve, Adam is literally not complete. The author of the Love Dare continues by stating that “marriage is a beautiful and priceless gift.” The challenge that I am taking as I journey through these pages is to truly love my bride as Christ loves me. I hope some of you will take this challenge with me. Day one of the Love Dare reads: “The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret.” Will you begin this adventure? I dare you!!!
